I was starting Media Player in Vista to listen to a file on my "storage" drive. The computer blue screened. OK this is a new OS, and Beta, so it's to be expected.
I re-booted into Vista, no problems there.
I then re-booted into XP (dual boot, very useful until I can replace all my software etc.) but some icons were missing on the desktop. I checked My Computer and my "storage" drive was missing.
In Control Panel, I checked the hardware to find that it was being presented as a "Foreign" drive, and when I tried to mount it, it was not possible to do so.
Back in Vista it was still there.
Somehow, Vista has locked this drive out of XP. As this drive houses a great deal of personal data, I am loathe to format it before I rescue the data held on it, so I guess I am going to be busy for the next few days.
Is there some way of rescuing this drive back into XP?
